Terms and Conditions of Entry

1. Entry to Powercor Star Search 2012 is FREE and open to performers who:
     a) Are Amateur Vocalists, Instrumentalists and Groups who do not earn their primary income from the field of entertainment or teaching music.
     b) Live in the Greater Geelong region, Werribee or environs. (Accompanists for soloist excepted)

2. Entertainment values are an important factor in judging. Contestants should take this into     consideration when selecting items.

3. Performing Times
     Auditions: The adjudicators will terminate any act as soon as they have heard sufficient to make a decision.
     Heats: Items will be terminated after five minutes.
     Grand Final: The preferred time is five minutes or less. Significant deduction of marks will apply if time exceeds six minutes.

4. Past Competitors
    Past winners are ineligible to compete again in the same section.
    Individual members of past winning groups may compete and as soloists.
    In all other cases please discuss in advance with the organisers.

5. Finalists must arrange for their own accompaniment. A piano will be
    provided at Costa Hall. Any other backing instrument will be the
    contestants responsibility.
    Pre-recorded backing will NOT be permitted at the Grand Final.

6. It will be at the discretion of the organisers to combine two or more
    sections of the competition should that be considered necessary.

8. Entrants will be notified of their performance times for Auditions,
    Heats and Grand Final by email. No departure from these times will
    be considered.
